A local family, and the coast they grew up on.
Chor started on Koh Kwang beach, where he grew up, with one small longtail and a watermelon and a pineapple for lunch, taking people from the beach out to the local islands. He saved for a second boat, then a third; they were known as Jow Ying Noi — Little Princess. Andaman Camp & Cruise itself was founded by a friend as the first private tour company in Krabi to be online. When she moved back to Australia she wanted someone she trusted to carry it on, and that is when Chor and Joy took over.
Chor
Boats are the family business.
Chor comes from a boating family going back to his grandfather, a local longtail driver. Even his mother can drive a longtail. For a time the family lived in a house on the water on Koh Yao, with a little longtail as their main way of getting about.
“Most of my knowledge comes from my grandfather. He taught me all I know about boats and the sea, and how to love and respect the water. For me, being in the water is not a job — it's my life; it's where my heart is.”
Chor's father died in a boating accident: a scarf he was wearing while driving caught in the engine. Even after that, his sons followed him onto the water.
Chor has driven everything from longtails to speedboats and ferries. He was on the water in the 2004 tsunami with a boat full of guests, and brought every one of them home — something he is quietly proud of.

How a day with us works
Your trip, not a timetable.
We are personal. We genuinely want our guests to have an unforgettable day and we tailor the trip to suit them — leaving very early in the morning, or cooking lunch to meet a dietary need. A personal, tailored experience is what you are paying for.
We leave early
We always recommend leaving early to get ahead of the other boats — most companies do not start until nine. Our trips are flexible: we work with the tides and the crowds and judge on the day what the best itinerary is, rather than following a schedule.
Every boat trip includes
Private boat with driver and a licensed, English-speaking guide · Transfer to and from your hotel · Fruit, lunch, water and soft drinks · Life jackets and snorkelling masks · TAT insurance. Every sea trip includes swimming and snorkelling. Not included: national park fees, where the destination charges them — set by the park authority and paid directly to the ranger on the day.
Two kinds of boat
A large longtail with shade and cushions, or one- and two-engine speedboats. Both can be booked privately; by Marine Department rules, Phi Phi is by speedboat only.

Young children, older travellers and travellers with disabilities are all welcome — tell us what you need and we will plan around it.
Safety and licensing
- Registered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, licence 32/01382, with the appropriate insurance.
- Regulated by the Marine Department. We will never take guests out if conditions are considered unsafe; the captain makes the final call.
- Every guide is registered and licensed.
- Our minivan is registered and fitted with a speed tracker and GPS linked to the Department of Transport.
Our ethos
We love our home, and we would like to keep it.
- No single-use plastic

- We encourage beach and sea cleans, and have been actively involved with Trash Hero for many years.
- Local boats, local guides
- As more hotels and resorts run their own boats, we keep doing what we can for the Ao Nang community: we only work with local guides and hire boats owned by local Thai people.

We can arrange almost everything — hotels, villas, drivers, transfers, activities, other islands and destinations, restaurants, multi-day itineraries. In high season it needs planning ahead for availability. The one thing we do not book is international flights.

A wedding: the couple gave us their budget and ideas, and we organised a private ceremony on Ao Nam Mao beach for family and friends, the reception on the beach, and the trips for everyone afterwards.

Two weeks for parents flying from America to meet their son studying in New Zealand: met at Bangkok airport, temples, markets, Kanchanaburi, the train and floating markets, then Krabi — every island, Railay, the elephants — and on to Phuket.

A youth group of twenty teenagers from America: camping, a night in a homestay, kayaking at Ao Thalane, a Phi Phi day and a beach-bungalow stay.
